This complete but damaged work was a voltz inspired way to show the scale of gray from white to black. This project showed the progression of Gary Masalam getting punched in the gut, curling up and then dying. It is museum board (gauche painted) on gator board (spray paint painted).
The sketch on the right contains initial concepts for Gary’s poses.
This slightly broken ovenable clay sculpture is the only known voltz sculpture. It previously had 3 more tentacles on top of it. Onion thing is basically an large onion, wearing cape and sunglasses with fake nose attached. Sometimes he gets thrown around, sometimes kicked around.
This bush and ink drawing shows a fight breaking out of the front window of a pawn shop. A stumpy Tito, with ammo can in hand warns the viewer “Here we strap up!” This drawing was the kickoff project that restarted Voltz as we know it. A tidied version of this artwork is available here.
This is the first draft of the Ubangians. These drawings are based out of photocopied busywork from high school English class. The crappier the photocopy the wilder the character.
The Ubangians are an oppressed group who no longer have a homeland. They petition for new members to join their cause but are considered a benign nuisance. They hold rallies, ride subways and have small parades throughout the East Seid.
This is the concept drawing of the Evil Warlord of Ubangie drawn on a grocery bag book cover. While Ubangian, he thinks it is stupid and is over the cringe that his compatriots are. He is commonly seen in the company of Big Brother and riding in an Aerostar owned by the aforementioned.
His red scar represents the scar Gilbert Smudge received while trying to make the ubangulator.
He is quotes as saying “You will now give me the ubangulator or you will die.”

This is a early drawing of the official state vehicle of the Ubangians. Its one of those 1940’s sedans with the wooden sides. That’s the Ruler O Ubangie in the bacground.
